National education day is celebrated on October 14. In the context of the elk were held two ceremonies: Thursday (October 12) urban celebration at the City Hall, while on Friday (October 13) ECK provincial celebration.

The tradition of the celebrations is that the urban local Government shall award the most deserving employees. It was no different this year. on October 12, when the city celebration, President of Elk Tomasz Andrukiewicz met at the town hall with the directors, teachers, employees of the Administration and operation, employed in urban educational units in Elk. Thanked all the educators for commitment and daily hard work and then handed out awards for outstanding achievement and merit in favor of raising the quality of education in the city.

In addition, he thanked Stanislaw Zalewskiemu with 23 years of service as Director of the Department of education, who is retiring.

While part of the provincial national education day in Elk was held today (October 13) in Ełk County Cultural Center. In this part of the participated m.in. the representatives of the regional office in Olsztyn, Marshal's Office, Board of education in Olsztyn and in Elk, Diekirch and directors, teachers and staff.

During these celebrations, directors and Teachers handed out were decorations, medals and awards on the occasion of the Day of national education.
