ACTIVITIES FOR CHILDREN

Elk is a city open to visitors of all ages, also for children. For children and adolescents was established many properties and attractions, m.in. Parks: rope, water, educational and sports-recreation, playgrounds, sports fields in the MOSiR or fountains. An additional attraction is Elk narrow gauge railway.

 

Rope park

Rope park is located right on the shore of Ełckie. Consists of three routes of varying difficulty – tailored to the age of the users. Route low and high stretch between crowns growing there trees and specially fitted columns.

·         route toddler-suitable for children from 3 to 12 years old; It consists of 12 obstacles and measures approx. 63 metres long,

·         low – for those over 8 years; consists of 20 obstacles and is ok. 120 feet in length,

·         route high-designed for young people and adults; located almost in the treetops; It consists of 12 obstacles and is ok. 178 meters long.

 

 

Water Park

In the offer there are three swimming pools Aquapark ełckie: pool, swimming pool with hydro-massage and a swimming pool. The latter is equipped with: water massages, waterfalls, bells and whistles, water jets, 5 children's slides, rope climbing. Monkey Grove, barrel, baskets basketball and gym (bicycles to aqua spinning and running track). In addition, the water park is a water slide with a length of 106 meters.

There is also a jacuzzi, two saunas (70 ° c and 100 ° c), two steam sauna (for 8 and 20 people; the temperature to 40 ° c), sauna, infra-red (infrared, temperature to 55 ° c) and Ice cave (approx.-15 ° c).

 

 

Wall climbing, climbing

Wall climbing, climbing is housed in a Sports Hall at primary school No. 2 (ul. Małeckich). The maximum height of the wall is 11 m, while the overhangs of the przewieszeniem dates back to 6.5 m. width of the wall is 18.5 m, and the total area-more than 190 m2. The wall is equipped with 15 individual points can be worn, and 80 additional safety points, as well as 700 climbing grips, suspension system, a system for vertical installation of mattresses, 20 harnesses, ropes, carabiners, etc. The scale of difficulty run routes oscillates 4-6.3. Nicolaus Copernicus educational Park

Educational Park refers to the planetary system and constellations. The function and the name of the park highlights the sculpture of Nicolaus Copernicus is located on one of the more than 50 park benches. You can relax or read a book or newspaper. There the solar system consists of 10 granite balls in different colors. Each tile of the tail in the sidewalk with information about the planet m.in: name, mass, distance from the Sun or diameter. Also the size of the balls are different. The largest is a star-the Sun has a diameter of 170 cm. Another planet: Mercury 120 cm, Venus 120 cm, 160 cm, Mars 150 cm, Jupiter 170 cm, Saturn 160 cm, Uranus 160 cm, Neptune 160 cm. In the system also includes Pluto, that since 2006, the decision of the International Astronomical Union officially is not a planet. Fun park is to educate children and young people from the field of astronomy and physics. For children, also built a playground in the form of constellations "Small Car" and "the Big Dipper". Star system allows children to free climbing and going after the construct. However, due to the flowing right next to the Elk River, animal lovers can feed the ducks and swans.


Playground

For children in playgrounds were built (in the Center and on each estate), on which the youngest residents and tourists can actively spend time and have fun with your peers. The biggest were in the vicinity of the promenade. Pulaski and the Lakeside, near the Square of John Paul II-ul. Żeromski, as well as in the city of sport & recreation centre. The main attraction, on one of the fingers play the promenade is the design in the shape of a ośmiometrowego ship equipped with a deck consisting of corridors, a rope tunnel bridge, the mast and the boom. On board there are also two water slides, as well as games such as: two ships, a clock, a maze. The structure is additionally equipped with a marine pane, steering wheel and telescope.

 

 

Mini golf and all-in-one in the MOSiR

In the MOSiR is a variety of activities for children. In addition to the playground and the little time she had done there is also a sports field for mini golf. It consists of 28 wells with obstacles of varying degrees of difficulty. The game is to defeat all the holes with the least amount of shots, although younger players often set their own, a bit easier the rules of the game. Players can use their own set of mini golf, and if you do not have their own, can charge rent sticks and balls. Turn off all-in-one mini-games: football, volleyball and badminton can benefit children up to 10 years of age.

 

 

Fountain City

In the Elk runs total of five fountains: two paving and the historic Solidarity Park, fourth in the square of John Paul II and the fifth on the Lake of Ełk. The most interesting from the point of view of children, however, are the fountains on the paving in the center of the city square and town square in the shopping gallery. They provide first and foremost fun not only for children and young people, but also for adults. Special interest arouse during the spring and summer. Foaming water nozzles placed in the sidewalk wystrzelają streams to a height of up to 2 meters! The most fun to make it m.in. you try to overcome the changing height of the water column.

 

 

Elk Railway

The historic Elk narrow gauge railway was built between 1912-1918. This is one of the largest tourist attractions of the city and also one of the few still operating in Poland.  In the summer the small narrow-you can take a scenic journey to Sypitki [Sɨˈpitki] next to the Elk. Being on the narrow-gauge station, it's also a bit of exploring and watch the rolling stock and Railway Museum.
