City of Elk has acquired a 3.4 million for renewal sites of Elk River

The local government ełcki acquired 3.4 million for revitalization of the next sites in the urban space. The President of Elk 27 June 2017 in Olsztyn, Poland signed the relevant agreement on the funding of the project. Elk River area will be renovated at the junction of ul. Park and Polish Troops.


On Thursday (June 27) at the Office of the Marshal in Olsztyn, a meeting was held, during which the Mayor of the city of Elk Tomasz Andrukiewicz signed an agreement with Marshal Of Warmia and Mazury To Mark Brzezinem, with which the city has acquired a 3.4 million for the implementation of the project "revitalization of degraded urban areas Elk River at the junction of ul. Park and the Polish Army (stage III and IV) "

Derived measures derived from the regional operational programme of Warmia and Mazury for the years 2014-2020, under action 8.1. Revitalization of urban areas.

Under the current project will be carried out:

Stage III

Includes the reconstruction of public infrastructure in the area of the mouth of the river Elk about. 0.76 ha. As part of their investment, will be performed the following work:

·         execution of the walk-cycle that connects to the ul. Polish Army,

·         execution path to running,

·         construction of a terrace overlooking the river Elk + benches

·         installation of highlight (with LED),

·         development of the monitoring system,

·         installation of elements of small architecture (benches and picnic tables, trash cans, waste bins, dog dirt)

·         planting is ok. 40 new shrubs, trees, shrubs, perennials, bulbs and lawns.

Stage IV

Includes the construction of the bridge by foot-hiking Elk River, with an area of approx. 135 m2,

along with the work:

·         a clearing of the river and the strengthening of the banks of the River on the Episode III-it stage

·         foot-bridge on the River Bike Elk will connect path on foot-cycling made in stages I and III,

·         installation of LED lighting

Phases I and II have been implemented in the years 2013-2014 from the resources of the RPO Warmia and Masuria 2007-2013. The first two stages consisted of revitalization of degraded public space under the creation of Copernicus Park and Sports Park, close to the Centre of environmental education at the town beach.

The total value of the project is £ 4,350,784.99, including:

·         3.4 million (85%) funding

·         950 784, $99 – (15%) own contribution.

Project will run from 1 August to 30 September 2017, 2018.
