Elk in the forefront of Polish cities, in which comes the inhabitants

The town of Ełk were at the forefront of the municipalities with the largest positive balance of migration of the population. According to the Central Statistical Office, elk found on 47. among 2478 Polish municipalities and 1 place among cities of district of the Warmian-Masurian.

Migration is a change of the place of residence associated with crossing the administrative border of the area, for example. moving from town to town, from the countryside to the city or from the city to the countryside. Migration is also changing country of residence.

However, migration is not a change of address within the same town or village in the case of municipalities and rural areas and change of address of residence in the area of urban-rural.

From 1 January 2015 in Poland is 2478 municipalities, including:

·         municipalities-304

·         rural gminas – 1563

·         urban-rural-611

Internal migration balance is the difference between inflow (immigration) and outlet (emigration) of the population of the area (e.g., State, County, city, village) in the specified time.

Published by GUS ranking municipalities concerning the balance of internal migration for permanent residence in 2016, includes all 2478 Polish municipalities.

City of Elk to 47 among the municipalities throughout the country with the highest positive balance of migration, setting out the difference between the number of people residing in our city and which have moved out in 2016, the balance has been calculated on the basis of the estimate, the amount of check-ins for permanent residence and declarations of check-out.

- I welcome the fact that our city is viewed by both the residents and new citizens, as a good place to live with your family, the establishment of new businesses, or the implementation of the investment. I think that the increase in the number of inhabitants has an impact not only the development of Elk and many changes even Visual, but also an attractive housing market, higher education, and numerous companies that produce jobs , said Tomasz Andrukiewicz, President of Elk.

Overall, statistics show that the negative net migration in 2016, has been reported in as many as 1570 municipalities, positive only in 884, while the zero balance in 24 municipalities. Net migration in Elk in this period amounted to + 300 people.

The highest net migration of population in 2016, was recorded in Warsaw (6571), Wrocław (1603), Kraków (1486), Gdansk (1244), Rzeszów (1125), and Piaseczno (947).

The lowest net migration of the population were recorded in Poznań (1967), Bydgoszcz (856), Katowice (852 persons), boats (832), Radom (813) and Sosnowiec (-71osób).

Migration statistics in Warmian-Masurian
The area of Warmia-Mazury is divided into 19 counties. The largest positive net migration in the main cities of the County has seen in Elk (+ 300).

Positive net migration in 2016, was registered only in 4 major cities of district of our province: Elk (300 people), Iława (55), Olsztyn (25 people) and Masuria (17).

While the largest negative net migration was recorded in Bartoszyce (-184), Elbląg (-180), Ostróda (-133), Nidzica (-122), Węgorzewo (-100).

In addition, the CSO statistics indicate that in the Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship in 2016, recorded negative net migration rate was (2703), including in the cities of our State (-1383).
