EKW rides now also steam locomotive

On the tracks of the Elk Railway Narrow gauge as part of the regular rides returns the renovated steam locomotive Px 48. The first steam locomotive will be completed on Saturday 25 July 2020. will take place on 8 August, 22 August, 5 September and September 26. The price for a steam locomotive ride is the same as with other regular journeys.

Every year, train rides are interest not only in the locals, but also by tourists resting in Elk or the surrounding area. During the tourist season 2020 on the Ełcka track Narrow gauge railway returns refurbished steam locomotive Px 48. Steam locomotive courses take place 25 July, 8 August, 22 August, 5 September and the end of the 26 September.

Scheduled EKW trains are carried out by lyd1 diesel locomotives and PX 48 steam locomotive. The queues run on the Ełk-Sypitki-Ełk route (departure from Elk at 12:00 GMT). 10.00, departure from Sypitek at 10.00 11.45)

The offer includes the following forms Tours:
  • regular/individual – journeys for individual tourists on certain days between June and September,
  • Group – for organised groups and school children and young people.

  • Ticket normal – 26 PLN
  • Ticket reduced* – 13 PLN
  • Children to 5. years of age – free of charge (accompanied by an adult)
Tickets available at the EKW box office before departure Queue.
* School children and adolescents, students, pensioners, veterans, war veterans, persons groups with disabilities I and II and invalids (with the presentation of an appropriate card).

Honored is the Ełcka Family Card 3+, Ełcka The Senior Card and the National Large Family Card, which entitle up to 50% of the discounts only for regular journeys.

The railway built between 1912 and 1918 by has played a very important economic role over the long term. In 1991, in recognition of its beauty and historical values, has been entered in the register of monuments. Elcka The Narrow Gauge Railway is the only tourist attraction of its kind in Warmia and Masuria.
