End of construction of stage I of Norwida Street

The construction of the first stage of Norwida Street, the so-called small ring road, has been completed. The work was carried out from the intersection with Emilia Plater street to Matejka street. The new road will improve the movement of cars in this part of the city. Watch the video!

The work on Norwida Street in Elk has come to an end. The project proposed the reconstruction of the main roadways (Norwida street on a section of 700 m and ul. Matejki - 147 m) and intersections with the streets: Emilia Plater, M. Dabrowska, Korsaka, Wańkowicza, Floral, Matejki. At the intersection of ul. Norwida from ul. Matejki appeared roundabout. It will force a speed limit, which will calm the movement of vehicles, increasing the level of safety.

In addition, at ul. Norwida new bays were created sidewalks, cycle path and street lighting. It was also rebuilt rainwater, sanitation, teletechnical sewerage and power grids, gas and water supply.

Total cost investment amounts to EUR 6.2 million, of which funding from the Local Government Roads Fund more than PLN 4.3 million.

Steps:

The city has application to the Local Government Roads Fund for funding for the second stage of work, i.e. on the section from ul. Matejki to cemetery street.

Stage III implemented by PKP as part of the construction of Rail Baltica. It will be a section from ul. cemetery to the planned downhill roundabout to the tunnel under the tracks

On the other hand, IV the stage of work will begin after the PKP has transferred the land to the city and will cover the section from the roundabout under the tracks to ul. Dabrowski with bridge crossing on the river.
