The Ełk City Council adopted the budget for 2022

Ełk councillors during today's (15 December) session adopted the city's budget for 2022 together with auto-amendment submitted by the president of Ełk. The budget includes all investments proposed in the project.

Draft budget city for 2022 the mayor of Ełk Tomasz Andrukiewicz prepared together with he was a collaborator and submitted it to the Ełk City Council in mid-November. On Today's session (15 December) councillors adopted the budget for next year. Project the regional Audit Office also gave a positive opinion on the budget. In the vote on the budget, participation of 22 councillors. 15 councillors voted in favour of the budget, 2 of them were against, 5 abstentions. The vote was preceded by a discussion, being an expression of concern for the future of the city and the current implementation of tasks.

President Tomasz Andrukiewicz thanked the councillors for adopting the budget resolution for the city of Ełk and expressed hope for cooperation in its implementation.

I wish thank the ladies and gentlemen of the councillors for all the discussions and conclusions that they were submitted and on which we talked. Thanks to this, we were able to prepare budget taking into account the needs of the residents of Ełk and investments reported by individual councillors' clubs. I declare that we will exercise due diligence by submitting applications for external co-financing of all investments, as well as we have been doing this for years. A team of people who have the knowledge and experience in this area. I also invite you to do so during the year discuss the budget of our city– said the president during today's session Ełku Tomasz Andrukiewicz.

In the adopted by the councillors of the budget of the city of Ełk for 2022 took into account:

Total income: PLN 289.1 million

  • current income: PLN 265.7 million
  • property income (including from the EU): PLN 23.2 million

Total expenses: PLN 319.1 million

  • current expenses: PLN 285.7 million
  • property and investment expenses: PLN 33.4 million

Amid of planned investments for 2022 are m.in:

  • thermomodernization SP 4, SP 7, kindergartens "Ekoludki";
  • construction of the park Montessori at the Kindergarten "Sunny Eight" (at the Primary School No 9);
  • construction of a municipal building at Kolejowa Street;
  • reconstruction of the historic the building of the sports hall at Armii Krajowej Street;
  • construction of Norwida Street on the section from the intersection with Matejki Street to Cmentarna Street (stage II);
  • construction of Norwida Street on section from Kościuszki Street to the exit roundabout to the tunnel under the tracks (IV stage);
  • reconstruction of Wojska Street Polskiego on the section from Mickiewicza Street to Sikorskiego Street;
  • reconstruction of Sikorskiego Street on the section from Wojska Polskiego Street to the railway tracks;
  • construction and reconstruction of roads: Pilecki, Fieldorf Nil, Grunwaldzka, Jagiełło;
  • construction of playgrounds at ul. Gdańska and Północ;
  • development of the park recreation and sports on the Konieczki street;
  • green revitalization courtyards at 35-39 Wojska Polskiego Street;
  • revitalization of Ełk yards (stage II);

In the budget financial resources for the preparation of documentation projects are also planned technical concerning m.in.

  • construction of a "green parking lot" at 11 Listopada Street;
  • land utilities Investment
  • reconstruction of streets: 3 Maja, Małeckie and Słowacki with the reconstruction of rainwater drainage;
  • reconstruction of the bridge structure at Zamkowa Street;
  • construction of facilities school and sports (playground and gym) at Primary School No. 1;
  • renovation of the roof at the School Basic No. 2.

Realizing investments we mean improving safety and increasing comfort the use of roads, pavements or other infrastructure. There is now a chance for obtaining funds as part of announced competitions in which we can receive funding of up to 80-95%. In two or three years of such the conditions may no longer exist. That's why we want to try now when they are offered preferential terms of co-financing. In case we fail raise money or tender amounts will be much larger, then we will postpone the implementation of specific investments to a later date – said Tomasz Andrukiewicz President of Ełk.
