Celebrations on the anniversary of the outbreak of World War II

Municipal celebrations of the 83rd anniversary of the outbreak of World War II They began today (1 September) with a Holy Mass in the church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Ełk. Official celebrations were held before monument to the "Heroic Soldiers of September".
The official city celebrations took place today (1 September) at monument to the "Heroic Soldiers of September" at Słowackiego Street in Ełk. Pulled in flag on the mast, the Polish Anthem was sung, then flowers were laid and lit candles, paying tribute to all the victims of the war.
The ceremony was attended by m.in. The Mayor of Ełk Tomasz Andrukiewicz together with the deputy, Ełk parliamentarians, representatives of uniformed services and various Ełk institutions.
The celebrations were attended by the Military Honorary Company from Bemowo Piski.
