The city cares about improving air quality, m.in. by supporting actions aimed at reducing dust and gas emissions Greenhouse. One of the activities undertaken are grants provided by the Office The city of Ełk for the replacement of coal furnaces. Residents of Ełk can apply for obtaining funding in the amount of PLN 3,000 for the replacement of old boilers coal-fired boilers for ecological sources (m.in e.g. gas, oil or oil boilers biomass and electric heating).

In 2023 31 residents' applications were approved and payment contracts were signed a total of PLN 93,000.

Since 2012 The City Hall supports the residents of Ełk in the replacement of non-class boilers Carbon. The total value of subsidies paid so far for their replacement is already over PLN 2.9 million. The grants granted allowed to replace 1,300 out-of-class Furnaces.
