Improving the mobility of residents – a new bicycle path

Along Suwalska Street, a new one was created bicycle path on the section from the Ełczanka restaurant to the roundabout J. Cichowicz. The bicycle path is another element of the project aimed at to improve the mobility of residents and access to public services.

New the bicycle path at Suwalska Street in the Zatorze housing estate is one of the elements of the co-financed project "Improvement of urban mobility in MOF Ełk – Line No. 2", which aims to improve mobility of residents of the city of Ełk, and thus encouraging residents to getting around by bicycle.

The scope of work included: m.in.: construction of a bicycle path with a bituminous surface in red, construction/reconstruction/renovation of pedestrian routes with paving surfaces:

- along Suwalska Street with a length of 610 m from the pedestrian and bicycle crossing at the Ełczanka restaurant to the Jerzy Cichowicz roundabout.

Investment cost: PLN 1,149,313.29, including co-financing:

- from the EU in the amount of PLN 854,629.36,

- from the state budget PLN 114,931.33.

Total Amount of co-financing: PLN 969,560.69.

Implementation project "Improvement of urban mobility in MOF Ełk – line no. 2" will contribute to: increase accessibility to public services, since the route of the bus line No. 2 as well as bicycle paths along it, lead to: School Complex No. 1, Ełk City Hall, Ełk County Office, City Stadium, Park Water and many other public facilities.

Project co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund under RPO of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship for the years 2014-2020 and the state budget.
