Elk received funding for the project entitled: "Construction of an active pedestrian crossing at 1 Kajki Street in Ełk". The funding comes from the Government Fund Road Development as part of improving the safety of vulnerable road users.

Implementation the investment will consist in the construction of an active pedestrian crossing at Kajki Street, using the SmartPass system. SmartPass has synchronized with elements, i.e. motion sensor, point reflective elements, lamps early warning system.

Introduction system aims to, m.in reduce the risk of number of collisions and reduction of the speed of moving cars.

Smart A pedestrian crossing will ensure the pedestrian's safety and comfort in the process crossing the road, and the driver – immediate information about the presence of a pedestrian at the crossing.

Total Project value – PLN 96,923

Funding from RFRD – PLN 77,540.80

Measures own – PLN 19,385.20

Investment It will be implemented in the years 2023 – 2024.

On In our city, there are currently 11 active crossings for pedestrians using the SmartPass system and 8 active bicycle paths SmartPass Bike, which improve the safety of pedestrians and Cyclists.
