The Mayor of Ełk met today with the new Voivode Warmian-Masurian Radosław Król. At the meeting at the City Hall present there were also local government officials from our region: the Starost of Ełk, the Head of the Ełk Commune, the Mayor of Prostki Commune, Kalinowo Commune Head and Stare Juchy Commune Mayor. It was the second visit of the voivode in our city, who visited the Ełk Cultural Centre on 22 December at the premiere Christmas concert "White Christmas Carol".

The new voivode wants to work closely with local government officials from the region. The local government experience of the voivode will be useful, who knows our region very well, as he previously served as the Head of the Commune Dunes.

During the meeting, a number of important infrastructure investments, environmental protection or education. They also discussed the needs and problems faced by local governments, pointing out the need to introduce changes, m.in in the financing of local governments or financing of education.

The Mayor of Ełk stressed the importance of cooperation between local governments and the voivode in order to effectively support inhabitants and the development of the local community. On the other hand, the voivode assured of commitment to addressing the issues raised and underlined its readiness to address the to work closely with local authorities. He also highlighted the role played by the plans to play a role in building a strong partnership between local and regional voivodship.

After the meeting in the town hall, the voivode together with the President of Ełk went to the office of the Suwałki Special Economic Zone Ełk Subzone, for a meeting with representatives of the Ełk economic community, represented by: Vice-President of the Special Economic Zone - Wojciech Kierwajtys, Director of the Science and Technology Park in Ełk – Agnieszka Pietrowicz and Member of the Board of the Guild of Various Crafts and Entrepreneurship in Ełk – Sebastian Kukowski. During the meeting, the problems and expectations of the business community were presented.

The visit to Ełk was also a good opportunity to visit Delegation of the Warmia and Mazury Voivodship Office in Ełk and getting to know it Employees.
