Under these agreements, reserved funds in the European Funds for Warmia and Warmia Mazury 2021-2027 for the implementation of projects that the Voivodeship Board has recognized as strategic for the development of the region. The projects will be implemented in Ełk and other local governments of the Ełk subregion.

Agreements with the Marshal signed today in the town hall: the Mayor of Ełk Tomasz Andrukiewicz as Chairman of the Board of the EGO Stork Land Association and leader of the inter-municipal agreement on the Ełk Functional Urban Area, Starost Ełk Marek Chojnowski as the treasurer of the EGO Association, as well as the Head of the Ełk Commune Tomasz Osewski, who signed the agreement on the projects of the Ełk FU.

Projects EGO Stork Land Association

1. With stork by EGO! – creation of a sub-regional bicycle route – creation of a bicycle trail running through 10 communes from the counties of Ełk, Olecko and Gołdap (from Prostki to Gołdap) through the construction/modernisation of roads and other elements of cycling infrastructure. Total Length route to approx. 288 km, and the investment works will be carried out on a total of length of approx. 225 km. In Ełk, a bicycle path by the river is to be built, m.in Ełk from Norwida Street to Suwalska Street. The entire trail will be properly marked. There will also be 33 service and rest areas for cyclists.

Expected Total amount of funding: EUR 22.4 million (approx. PLN 100.8 million)

2. Improvement accessibility and communication coherence of the EGO subregion

·       Rebuilding the county road on the section Sędki – Pisanica – Borzymy – the border of the voivodeship;

·       Rebuilding the county road on the section Wysokie – Pisanica;

·       Construction a communal road on the Nowa Wieś Ełcka – Śniepie section;

·       Rebuilding communal roads on the section Glinka – Borki – Miechowo – Bobry.

Expected Total amount of funding: EUR 15.73 million (approx. PLN 70.78 million)

Projects Association of ITI of the Ełk Municipal Functional Area

1.    Innovative MOF Ełk – package of 5 projects implemented by the Science and Technology Park in Ełk incubation of start-ups, innovation of SMEs, the creation of a hub for the design of digital games and virtual space, the provision of services for companies raising their awareness and activity in the field of digital transformation, setting aside space for conducting experiments and technological research;

Expected Total amount of funding: EUR 1.15 million (approx. PLN 5.2 million)

2.    Ełk Investor's Port – Building a brand economic development of the Ełk FOF – a project consisting in the preparation of investment areas in the Ełk Commune, near the S61 expressway (precincts of Szeligi-Buczki and Przykopka)

Expected Grant amount: EUR 5.29 million (approx. PLN 23.8 million).
