Jazz Meeting – Wojciech Myrczek

Ełk On 24 February, the Cultural Centre invites you to a meeting with jazz sounds. At 7.00 p.m. in the hall as part of the Jazz Meeting, Wojciech Myrczek will perform, and with him four instrumentalists.

In this Saturday, February 24 at 7:00 p.m., in the Ełk Auditorium Cultural Centre, a concert by Wojciech Myrczek will be held. Together with him on the Four instrumentalists will perform on stage:

Kamil Skorupski – saxophone
Marcin Nagnajewicz – piano
Michał Kapczuk – double bass
Szymon Madej – drums, percussion

In As part of the Jazz Meeting series, the artists will take listeners on a journey to the world swing, enriched with elements of modern styles and techniques, playing conventions and creating a unique atmosphere.

Wojciech Myrczek– Polish jazz vocalist No. 1 according to the readers of the Jazz Forum magazine. Inspiration He draws on the swing tradition, enriching it with elements of modern styles and techniques. Winner of Polish and foreign awards, m.in:
• I place in Jazz Top of the Jazz Forum monthly in the category of Vocalist of the Year in 2015 – 2021,
• First place and audience award in the Shure Montreux Jazz Voice competition Competition in Switzerland (2013),

In He has three solo albums "Celebrating the Journey" (2022), "Love Revisited" (2014) and "We'll Be TogetherAgain" (2010), and guest participation in numerous jazz music releases, pop and serious.

Cooperated m.in. with Jan "Ptaszyn" Wróblewski, Tomasz Stańko, Lora Szafran.

Lecturer Stanisław Wyspiański Academy of Theatre Arts in Krakow (since 2018) and Jazz Institute of the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice (in 2012 – 2019). In 2020, he was awarded the degree of Doctor of Musical Arts.

 Kamil Skorupski – A graduate of the Faculty of Jazz and Popular Music at the Karol Academy of Music Szymanowski Academy in Katowice and the Fryderyk Chopin Academy of Music. Author of the albums "Questions for tonight" and "Adventure in Katowice".

Marcin Nagnajewicz - Composer, arranger, instrumentalist, doctor of musical arts. Graduate Fryderyk Chopin University of Music. Since 2020, he has held the position of music consultant at the Białystok Puppet Theatre.

Michael Kapchuk – Double bassist, bass guitarist.  Graduate Faculty of Jazz at the State Music School in Warsaw and the Karol Academy of Music Szymanowski in Katowice. He won the team Grand Prix at the the most important competitions in Poland and abroad.

Simon Madej - Drummer, graduate of the Faculty of Jazz and Popular Music in Katowice. Between He is a member of the following ensembles: Aga Derlak Trio, Wojciech Myrczek Quartet. As a musician He has recorded over 30 albums.
