National The Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management has announced a ranking list of municipalities, who are applying for funding under the "Green Transport" programme Public". After verification of the submitted applications, 67 local governments, including the City of Ełk, were qualified for the next stage of the program. Now the negotiations on the terms of the related to the co-financing of the purchase of five electric buses together with charging stations (for 5 charging points), including delivery dates, payment and Other.

Planned the value of the entire investment will amount to over PLN 19 million. The city of Ełk has applied for the amount of co-financing over PLN 12 million 230 thousand. From purchased city buses will recover VAT, thanks to which the expenditure on the purchase of buses (actual contribution own city) will amount to approx. 19% of the value of the entire investment.

Important the aim of the "Green Public Transport" programme is to reduce the use of energy and emission fuels in urban public transport and building public awareness of the benefits of promoting electromobility.

Thanks enrichment of the Ełk fleet of MZK with electric buses will be limited emission of CO2, nitrogen oxides and dust into the atmosphere. This will have an impact on improving air quality in our city.

In in the years 2018-2021, the City of Ełk purchased a total of 8 hybrid buses as part of the implementation of a project aimed at the development of sustainable transport.
