The cover addition is an element of the government's anti-inflation shield, which is to offset rising prices energy, gas and food.

Whom is eligible?

It is entitled to a household whose average monthly income does not exceed PLN 2100 net in a single-person farm or PLN 1500 net per capita in a multi-member holding.

The application must include the calendar year from which it is determined the average monthly household income of the applicant, i.e.:

• 2020 r. - in the case of an application submitted in the period from 1 January 2022 to July 31, 2022,
• 2021 r. - in the case of an application submitted in the period from 1 August 2022 to October 31, 2022

Surcharge amounts on an annual basis as part of the shielding allowance:

• a single-person household will receive 400 or 500 PLN* at the assumption that his income will not exceed PLN 2100,
• farm 2-3 persons will receive 600 or 750 PLN* assuming that the income will not exceed PLN 1500 per month per person,
• farm 4-5 people will receive PLN 850 or PLN 1062.50* assuming, that the income will not exceed PLN 1500 monthly per person,
• farm 6 and more persons will receive PLN 1150 or PLN 1437.50* assuming that the income does not exceed PLN 1500 per month per person.

*elevation the amount of co-financing depends on the source of heating – higher the amount of the allowance is due where the main source of heating household is a solid fuel boiler, fireplace, goat, air heater, kitchen shaft, stove, coal kitchen or stove tiled for solid fuel, fuelled with coal or carbon-based fuels, inscribed to the central register of emissivity of buildings.

In the case of the cover allowance will apply to the so-called zloty for zloty rule. This means that this additive will be granted even after exceeding the income criterion, and the amount of the allowance shall be reduced by the amount of that overrun. The minimum amount of protective allowances paid will be PLN 20.

Law the protective additive states that one person may enter as part of only one household. In the case of when applying for the payment of the household cover allowance multiple person has submitted more than one person, this allowance is granted the applicant who made such an application first.

Other information – payment deadlines

Provide granted for complete applications submitted in January 2022 will be paid in 2 equal instalments, i.e. until 31 March and until December 2.

Those people who will not apply by the end of January, they will still be able to apply support. Then they must submit a complete application by October 31, 2022. the payment of 100% of the allowance will be made by 2 December 2022 at the latest.

The cover addition will be paid by municipalities that will receive subsidies from the state budget.
