Each On 11 February, the World Day of the Sick is celebrated. The holiday was established in 1992 to give support to both those who are suffering but also their families.




On February 11, we celebrate the World Day of the Sick, established by Pope John Paul II, who wanted to sensitize people to human needs, show the meaning of suffering, give families support and understanding during the illness of loved ones.

It is also a time when you should appreciate work of doctors, nurses, paramedics and service workers health of those watching over patients, both those hospitalized in hospitals, as well as patients staying at home or hospices.

To all those who experience illness and suffering, I wish above all perseverance, strength of spirit and return to Health. I wish the families of the sick patience, forbearance and bravery in caring for those in need. I wish that Your presence was a relief, but also a support in the most difficult Moments. Healthcare professionals thank you for your commitment and care for the sick. I also wish you an unflagging motivation and knowledge to overcome the diseases of their patients – said the president of Ełk Tomasz Andrukiewicz.
