The exhibition "Ełk and Elk in the Polish People's Republic will be devoted to the realities of life of the daily period. Therefore The Historical Museum in Ełk addresses the residents of Ełk with an invitation to cooperate and a request for access to items characteristic of the People's Republic of Poland, m.in vessels, clothes, everyday appliances, magazines, printouts, appliances electronic, etc.

Items made available by Ełczan will enrich this exhibition with unique exhibits, about which many of us have simply forgotten. Younger generations, on the other hand, do not have awareness of their existence.

Often out of sentiment or just for no reason we store in garages, cellars, in lockers or in the attics things which, no longer of material value, constitute souvenirs from past years. In contact with them, memories of the old ones suddenly return places, events, situations, people or the climate of life in the People's Republic of Poland.

The exhibition will be available from mid-May.
