Over PLN 3.95 million for Pro-Medica for the expansion of branches

Szpital Pro-Medica sp. z o. o. from Ełk obtained over PLN 3.95 million from the RPO of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship for expansion of two departments, i.e. Neonatology and Gynecology and Obstetrics. The aim of the project is improving the quality and effectiveness of health services provided in the hospital.

Thanks to the reconstruction of the Branch Neonatology will gain a new room for intensive care of the newborn and will be equipped with medical equipment.

Construction works will increase ward by adapting the room belonging to the Maternity Ward, in order to create Neonatal Intensive Care Room and enlargement of the ward lock Neonatology.

As a result of the work, within the Neonatal Department there will be three independent rooms:

  • room intensive care of the newborn,
  • room premature babies and
  • room isolated newborns and intermediate care.

After the reconstruction of the Delivery Block there will be 3 independent delivery rooms with bathrooms equipped with a modern medical equipment.

At each single room there will be a bathroom available for only one patient. As of today the hospital has only one single delivery room and one double room. In so a significant way, will increase the comfort of women giving birth.

The proposed changes assume: equipping delivery rooms and caesarean section rooms with stations for resuscitation of the newborn. The area of the caesarean section room will be increased, which will affect the conditions in it and adapt it to the requirements and standards operating room.

Thanks to the introduction of positions for resuscitation of newborns in each delivery room, creation of a new room intensive care of a newborn in the neonatology department. It will improve standard of medical care in these wards, providing comprehensive care mother and child.

The investment includes the execution of works: construction, electrical and teletechnical installations, sanitary, installation of medical gases. As part of the project, it is planned to purchase 33 pieces medical devices (including 25 pieces of medical equipment).

Planned start date of the investment is July 2022. The work should be completed by the end of December 2023.
