The White Lily Awards have been awarded annually since 2007. The idea of the award is to distinguish people who in a special way with their daily work, activity and commitment serve the city and its inhabitants and contribute to promote Elk.

Prizes are awarded to natural persons, legal entities and other entities for specific achievements in the previous calendar year or for the whole activities in 8 categories:

1. Patron of Sport,
2. Athlete of the Year,
3. Artistic Award,
4. Patron of Culture,
5. Ambassador of Ełk,
6. Entrepreneur of the Year,
7. An attitude worthy of imitation,
8. Special Award.

The prize is awarded at the request of:

• President of the City of Ełk,
• Chairman of the Ełk City Council or group 5 Councilors
• other government bodies and local government,
• non-governmental and social organizations, economic, professional, trade union,
• local, regional and nationwide media,
• groups of 25 adult natural persons, permanently residing in the city of Ełk.

Applications can be submitted to the General Chancellery of the City of Ełk or sent Mail.
