The section between the intersections of Matejki and Matejki streets Cemetery, on which the work will be carried out is about 280 meters. This is the second stage construction of Norwida Street and continuation of the investment (section of Norwida Street between Ul. E. Plater, and Matejki Street), which ended in 2020.

As part of the second stage of the investment, a surface will be built roadway, sidewalks and bicycle path, lighting, rainwater drainage. The power grid, telecommunications network and network will also be rebuilt. PKP communication. The contract with the contractor was signed in August 2021. From The signing of the contract until March was carried out by design work. Planned completion date of the investment is the end of August 2022.

For the implementation of the task, the city obtained funding from the state special purpose fund of the Government Road Development Fund in the amount of more than PLN 1.6 million.

More about the stages of construction of Norwida Street:

• Stage I, i.e. on the section from the intersection with ul. Emilii Plater to Matejki Street co-financed from the Local Government Roads Fund. – completed in 2020
• Stage II, i.e. on the section from Matejki Street to Ul. Cemetery – for the implementation of this stage, the city obtained over PLN 1.6 million from Government Road Development Fund. – work has just started
• Stage III will be implemented by PKP in as part of the construction of Rail Baltica. It will be a section from u. Cemetery to the planned exit roundabout to the tunnel under the tracks.
• Stage IV of the works will cover the section from the roundabout under tracks to Dąbrowskiego Street along with a bridge crossing over the river. – currently underway tender procedure
