Every year the best students of the city schools receive scholarships from the president of Ełk for their academic performance and social activity.

The scholarship award ceremony took place today (7 April) in the conference room of the Ełk City Hall at 16.00.

Scholarships are awarded for financial support students of municipal primary schools (classes V-VIII) and Lyceum General Education in the Sports School Complex, who show significant socially useful activities and achieve very good academic results.

On the scholarship period from 1 January to 30 June 2022 received 31 applications.

Granted there are 21 scholarships left:

• School Basic No. 1 in Ełk - 2
• School Basic No. 2 named after Danuta Siedzikówna "Inka" in Ełk - 2
• School H. Sienkiewicz Basic No. 3 in Ełk - 1
• School Basic No. 4 named after Prof. Wł. Szafera in Ełk - 5
• School Basic No. 5 M. Konopnicka in Ełk - 3
• School Primary Sports No. 6 in the Sports School Complex in Ełk - 2
• School Primary No. 7 with Integration Departments in Ełk - 3
• School Basic No. 9 john paul II in Ełk – 3

Total the amount of scholarships awarded is PLN 24,600.

Scholarships have a value of PLN 150 (classes V and VI) and 200 PLN (classes VII and VIII) per month and will be paid directly in schools.

The scholarship can be awarded to a student who:

• is active and involved in social activities for the benefit of the local environment, school and peer,
• Reaches very good academic results (average for the last school year - not less than 4.5 and at least a good assessment of behavior).

With a request for awarding a scholarship to a student may occur:

• manager schools, parents' council, parents
• Foundations associations, organisations and other bodies supporting or implementing educational activities for the benefit of pupils
