A local initiative is a common tool - residents and local government - a project solving a specific problem or satisfying a specific social need. This year, applications can be submitted by 30 April at the latest. The city budget provides for PLN 240,000 for this purpose.

Ideas whether the needs may relate to different areas, e.g. small architecture (e.g. benches), playgrounds, development of common space, roads, greenery, activities with the scope of culture, education, sport, volunteering.

Today in the Ełk City Hall contracts have been signed for further local initiatives:

1. "Playground in ROD im. 50th anniversary of the Railwaymen's Trade Union".

Task: Creating a public playground for children and larger residents of Ełk who are users and guests of the 50th Anniversary Family Allotment Garden Trade Union of Railwaymen in Ełk and providing an ideal rest for the growing Konieczki housing estate and New Town in Ełk.

2. "Children's Island" – modernization of the playground.

Task: Urban Community Kindergarten No. 1 "Ekoludki" in Ełk and residents of the housing estate at Piękna and Kilińskiego will modernize the existing playground located next to the building Main Kindergarten No. 1 "Ekoludki" at 48 Kilińskiego Street for activation social activities of children and adults.

The total amount of co-financing of these two initiatives is PLN 80,000.
