The World Urban Forum – WUF11 is the largest and most important event in the world dedicated to urban development. Representatives countries from all over the world, local governments, scientists, people of the business world, leaders local communities, urban planners and, above all, city dwellers will look for solutions that will turn into concrete actions. Everything after to make the cities in which we live more friendly to their inhabitants. In this year the meeting will take place in June in Poland.

Residents of Ełk can help now in the development of the city by submitting an idea for a mobile application that fits the SMART CITY trend (smart city).

Smart City is a city that uses information and communication technologies to increase interactivity and efficiency of urban infrastructure, as well as to improve the quality of life Residents. Ideas should propose a solution to problems or an improvement of the sphere e.g. city administration, cultural and sports life, promotion of the city, tourism, life of residents, local economy, etc.

The "Your Startup-Your Future" competition is to be an incentive to dare and try your hand and capabilities in designing Application. It is the first step to being able to consciously take participation in competitions in which it is finally possible to finance development and implementation of selected projects.

Who can take share? (teams of max. 3 people)

• "Beginners" – students of Ełk schools secondary, age 18+
• "Advanced" – every natural person whose socio-economic life takes place in Ełk, age 18+

Awards monetary provided for in the category "Beginners"

• Behind first place: PLN 5,000,
• Behind second place: PLN 3,000,
• Behind taking third place; 2 000 PLN

Awards monetary provided for in the category "Advanced"

• Behind first place: PLN 5,000,
• Behind second place: PLN 4,000,
• Behind third place: PLN 2,000.

Reward special in the amount of PLN 2,000 for the application submitted in I stage in line with the SMART CITY trend

In addition, during participation in the competition, it is possible to build a network relationships, meeting people with similar interests and exchanging information, establishing cooperation. During the finals, however, are organized professional application design workshops in which they can take part participants of the competition.
