In June 2019, the Ełk City Hall launched Free Notification System "SMS/e-mail Elk info", which gives the ability to notify residents via SMS or e-mail.

The system is completely free for residents. Anyone who signs up will receive an SMS and/or email sent by an employee of the City Hall with various useful news, e.g. about current difficulties and changes in the organization of road traffic, sports events and cultural or the most important information from Ełk.

The registration itself is quick and easy. Just enter basic data: telephone number, e-mail address (where you can provide both two as well as one way of receiving information).

About the system

At the end of 2011, the Ełk City Hall launched the first service of direct SMS and e-mail contact with the residents of our cities. Entrepreneurs could use the PENSIO system. The task of the portal was visualization of the status of individual entrepreneurs' accounts based on data stored in the IT system of the Ełk City Hall and enabled settlement of arrears using available online payment channels.

The current notification system "SMS/e-mail Elk info" opens further channels of communication with the office via SMS and e-mail and is part of the creation of a smart city - Smart City.

Supported functionalities are m.in:

• emergency warnings (e.g. sudden weather breakdowns, accidents, water supply interruptions),
• information about significant traffic difficulties, renovations and reconstructions of streets,
• information about cultural events, sports, entertainment, etc.
• information about city events Economic
• information about the celebration of holidays and celebrations state and local government,
• any good messages sent to Residents.
