Today students start a new school year. Below are statistics on m.in number of pupils and teachers in institutions educational activities run by the city of Ełk. In the list also includes non-public educational institutions (kindergartens and a kindergarten point) in Ełk, for which the managing authorities will be different entities than the city government.

Number of students covered primary and pre-school education – approx. 8 536 pupils

• approx. 7466 students in institutions public run by the City of Ełk (schools, kindergartens, nurseries)
• approx. 1070 students in institutions non-public activities run by other entities (kindergartens, points) kindergarten)

Public entities educational activities run by the city of Ełk:

Municipal public educational units are currently: 7 kindergartens, 8 primary schools, High School in the Team Sports Schools. There are also 2 municipal nurseries in the city.

In primary schools from 1 September 2022 will be created 3 preparatory classes for students from Ukraine, i.e.:

a) in the Primary School No. 1

• Class I – III – 21 students currently enrolled
• Class IV – VI – 17 students currently enrolled

b) in the Primary School No. 4 prof. Wł. Szafera in Ełk

• Class VII – VIII – 10 currently enrolled Students

Urban nurseries - in 10 children are enrolled in both institutions from Ukraine

Urban Kindergarten (as of 25 August 2022) – 32 children from Ukraine are enrolled

School Basic- a total of 175 students are enrolled from Ukraine, both
in preparatory and public branches.
