Every year, the inhabitants of Ełk participate in large numbers in the city's Independence Day celebrations. This year, a number of initiatives are also planned to celebrate this important date.

We also encourage the display of state flags as a symbol of our patriotism.

7.00 p.m., auditorium of the Ełk Cultural Centre, free admission

Concert "Sing 100 years of independence" performed by Maciej Miecznikowski.

The program includes: the most beautiful Polish historical songs, hits from the films "Pan Wołodyjowski" and "The Law of the Fist", or old hymns and religious songs.

12.00 p.m., amphitheatre of the Ełk Cultural Centre
"Little Pole" – singing the national anthem by preschoolers and students of zero grades in Ełk.

4.30 p.m.,  Town Hall
Celebrations at the monument of Józef Piłsudski assisted by the honorary company from Bemowo Piski.

5.00 p.m., auditorium of the Ełk Cultural Centre, free admission
Concert of the winners and awarding of prizes in the XV song and patriotic song competition.

6.00 p.m., St. Adalbert's Cathedral
Holy Mass in the intention of the Homeland (musical setting: Kontrapunkt choir / organ: Rafał Sulima)

11 NOVEMBER (FRIDAY)

11:11 a.m. Independence run through the streets of the city of Ełk along the marked route. Distance 1111 m one lap (max 3 laps), participation free of charge. The start and finish line will be located at the City Hall (Piłsudskiego Street).

Competition program:
9.30 – 11.00 – registration in the competition office
11.11 – start of the race
11.35 – end of the race
11.40 – refreshments
12.00 – end of the event

All people can take part in the race, regardless of age. The condition for the admission of the competitor to the race is a good state of health confirmed by a medical certificate or submission of a self-signed statement.

Minors are allowed to participate in the race, provided that they are cared for during the entire event by legal guardians. The participation of a minor must be preceded by a written statement by his or her parent (legal guardian).
