Celebrating the Independence Day together, the inhabitants of Ełk had the opportunity to start on November 8, because in the evening in the Elksky auditorium The Cultural Centre held a concert performed by Maciej Miecznikowski "Sing 100 Years of Independence".

On November 10, the main celebrations took place. At noon we could hear how children from Ełk kindergartens sing the Polish Hymn together. About at 4.30 p.m., official ceremonies were held at the monument Marshal Józef Piłsudski. Flowers were laid by the president of Elk, as well as representatives of Ełk institutions and organizations assisted by the Company Honorary from Bemowo Piski. At 5.00 p.m. in the Ełk Cultural Center took place Final Concert of the XV Patriotic Song and Song Contest, and at 6.00 p.m. The Ełk Cathedral will celebrate holy Mass in the intention of the Homeland, at which the musical setting will be provided by the Kontrapunkt choir, and Rafał Sulima will play the organ.

On Friday (November 11), an independence run through the streets is planned the city of Ełk at a distance of 1111 m. (volunteers could run 3 laps, i.e. 3333 m).
