The aim of the competition is to popularize topics related to with Ełk, enabling the authors of the work to promote their achievements as well as encouraging innovative scientific and research work devoted to our city. To participate in the competition - as every year - the President of the City of Ełk invited authors of bachelor's, master's, engineer's and doctoral theses and postgraduate graduates.

Previous editions of the competition enjoyed a large interest of the authors of the works. Similarly, this time, the competition received 18 Work. They were evaluated by the chapter appointed by the president of Ełk.

After reading the recommendation of the Chapter, the president of Ełk He awarded three prizes and three distinctions.

In the category of doctoral dissertations, the award went to Emilia Zamojska for the work "The content of heavy metals in bottom sediments and plants water as an indicator of anthropogenic pollution in the system river-lake" (Bialystok University of Technology).

In the category of master's theses, the thesis was rated the highest Caroline Islands Ornowska - "Museum of the theater at the Castle in Ełk" (University of Technology Bialystok).

In the category of bachelor's theses the award went to Marcin Andruszkiewicz for his work "Police activities in the field of water security, on the example of Warmia and Mazury, with particular including the city of Ełk" (University of Warmia and Mazury)

No prizes were awarded in the engineering category.

In addition to the awards, the president awarded three distinctions, which have received:

1. Barbara Iżbicka for her work "Activities of the educational administration in the face of aggression of primary school students No. 3 during the pandemic" (University of Warmia and Mazury)

2. Marta Hyzopska for "Variant design of the tower structure observation" (Bialystok University of Technology)

3. Aleksandra Wnukowska for "Prospects for the development of urban transport in Ełk" (University of Gdańsk)

Today (21 December) during meetings in the town hall President of Ełk Tomasz Andrukiewicz presented awards to the authors the best works.
