Our eastern neighbours have been rolling for a year heroic struggle to defend the independence of his homeland. In the morning of February 24 Last year, Russia invaded Ukraine, whose citizens have been facing for 366 days With war, parting with loved ones and Russian cruelty.

Elk from the beginning of this tragedy expresses its solidarity with Ukraine. Today, blue flutters on the city hall building – yellow flag, a sign symbolizing the sovereignty of Ukraine and the solidarity of our cities.

From the first days of the war, Ełk actively joined in helping the citizens of Ukraine. From the very beginning, the Ełk units and Organizations, as well as the Elks themselves, undertake a number of initiatives, which the common denominator is broadly understood support, not only in Ukraine, But also here in our city.

The determinant of the Elks' activities is helping to build an environment that will allow our eastern neighbours living in our city today, feel safe and look with hope for the future. Thank you to all the Elks who opened their hearts and their homes on citizens of Ukraine.

So far, 1960 PESEL numbers have been assigned to Ukrainian citizens in connection with the conflict in the Ełk City Hall.
