Each year the best students of municipal schools receive scholarships from the president of Ełk for academic performance and social activity.

Scholarships They are awarded to financially support pupils in urban primary schools (classes V-VIII) and High School in the Sports School Complex, who show significant socially useful activities and achieve very good academic performance.

For a period From January 1 to June 30, 2023, 55 applications were received. President The city awarded 28 scholarships that went to students in city schools:

-School Primary No. 1 in Ełk – 2 students,

-School Danuta Siedzikówna "Inka" Primary No. 2 in Ełk – 2 students,

-School H. Sienkiewicz Primary No. 3 in Ełk – 4 students,

-School Primary No. 4 named after Prof. Wł. Szafera in Ełk – 8 students,

-School M. Konopnicka Primary No. 5 in Ełk – 3 students,

-School Sports Primary No. 6 in the Sports School Complex in Ełk – 3 students,

-School Primary No. 7 with Integration Classes in Ełk – 2 students,

-School John Paul II Primary No. 9 in Ełk – 4 students.

The scholarship can be awarded to a pupil who:

-is active and involved in social activities for the benefit of the local environment, school and peer,

-Reaches very good academic results (average for the last school year - not less than 4.5 and at least a good behavior grade).

Scholarships have a value of PLN 150 (classes V and VI) and PLN 200 (classes VII and VIII) per month and will be paid directly in schools.
