Yesterday (11 September) the construction site of Norwida Street was handed over on the section from intersection of Kościuszki – Dąbrowskiego streets to the exit roundabout to the tunnel under tracks (to Rail Baltica). The last stage of the construction of Norwida Street has begun, the implementation of which will allow for a comprehensive launch of a strategic for the city, the so-called small ring road, connecting the city center with the Ełk bypass, ultimately contributing to the reduction of traffic congestion, m.in within Kilinskiego Street.

Scope The works include m.in .:

-        road works, m.in. execution of: earthworks, substructures for paved surfaces, road surfaces made of SMA (mineral and asphalt), surface of descents and sidewalks, path surface bicycle made of asphalt concrete of red color, as well as the execution of equipment traffic safety, traffic lights at the intersection of Kościuszki Street – Dąbrowskiego – Norwid and vertical and horizontal markings,

-        bridge works, including, m.in execution bridge crossing over the Ełk River with a length of approx. 77 m and backlight bridge in the form of illumination, allowing architectural illumination the advantages of the object. The bridge will be illuminated in the form of RGB illumination (red – green – blue) with control.

-        Works in the field of electrical and teletechnical industry m.in. construction: lighting lines street with poles (luminaires equipped with LED light sources and a system control), telecommunication ducts, safety monitoring system with camera points (9 cameras), environmental monitoring system (2 stations monitoring),

-        Works in the field of sanitary industry and other works.

Total value of the task, including the development of project documentation and execution; work in the Design – Build it system: PLN 31,310,808.69

City obtained funding in the amount of PLN 27,075,000 from the Government Programme Polish Governance Fund: Strategic Investment Programme, edition 1/2021.
