Teatr Polska 2023 - performance "The Judges"

Ełk The Cultural Centre invites you on October 3 (Tuesday) to the performance of the Theatre Aleksander Fredro in Gniezno entitled "Judges". Show the performance takes place as part of the TEATR POLSKA 2023 programme realized by the Zbigniew Raszewski Theatre Institute with funds of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.

In as part of the Tatra Poland 2023 program, October 3 at 19:00 in ECK auditorium, there will be a screening of the play "Judges". This is the last drama that came out of Stanisław's pen Wyspiański. A metaphysical story about guilt and punishment, about contradictions between the written law and the moral law.

Theatre Aleksander Fredro was created thanks to the social initiative of the Section Theatrical Society of Friends of Gniezno, and its seat became the building of the "Sun" cinema at Chrobrego Street. Theatre It was inaugurated on 1 May 1946 with a production of comedy Józef Korzeniewski's STARY KAWALER directed by Henryk Barwiński, his first artistic director. Late In the forties, the Theatre was nationalized, and from 1955, as the only one professional drama scene in the country, named after Alexander Fredro.

Theatre many times presented his achievements also outside Gniezno. In In the years 2004-2008 he cooperated with the Polish Stage in the Netherlands, with National Theatre in Tuzla, he also participated in the International Festival in Sarajevo. Performance "Card Index" by Tadeusz Różewicz directed by Piotr Kruszczyński could be seen in the final of the IV edition of the Directing Art Festival "Interpretations" in Katowice in 2001, and Witold Gombrowicz's "Trans-Atlantyk" directed by Lech Raczak took part in the VII International Gombrowicz Festival in Radom in 2006 and the year before in International Festival "Malta" in Poznań. On Poznańska Street "Malta" in 2012 the Theatre also presented "Un-divine Comedy. A Thing about the Cross" after Zygmunt Krasiński, directed by Piotr Kruszczyński, and in 2014 this performance took part in the 39th Opole Theatre Confrontations "Polish Classics".

THEATRE POLAND is a nationwide theatre promotion program whose aim is is to facilitate access to the offer of Polish theatres by: increasing their mobility and enabling the presentation of performances in centres with difficult access to culture.
