Were announced results of the second edition of the Government Program for the Reconstruction of Monuments. Co-financing will be granted to 3,200 local government investments, in the total amount exceeding PLN 1.8 billion.

City Ełk submitted an application for co-financing of the investment entitled "Reconstruction and adaptation residential and warehouse building (station warehouse) for the administrative building – office with an economic part, in the EKW in Ełk". Investment It was on the list of projects that will receive funding.

Building It is entered in the register of monuments as part of the narrow-gauge station complex main (station warehouse). It consists of a brick part (formerly residential) and wooden (storage), at the moment only part of it is used warehouse. After the completion of the investment, the brick part of the building will be the administrative and auxiliary functions of the Historical Museum introduced, However, the rooms in the basement and the wooden part will be intended for the warehouse and economic function.

Whole the object is managed by a cultural institution – the Historical Museum in Ełk.

Scope The investment will include construction works in the basement, on the ground floor and on the roof of the building (it will be it underwent renovation and protection – impregnation).

With Thinking about restoring the historical appearance of the building, they will be liquidated secondarily elements added in the second half of the twentieth century, such as an additional entrance to the basement from the outside and replaced roof sheathing (from sheet metal to tile ceramic).

Investment It will cover in particular:

1. Robots in the basement of the building – m.in. reflection of damaged plaster, dismantling the ground, cement floors, replacement of damaged beams in ceilings, insulation damp-proofing, cleaning, fumigation, impregnation;

2. Robots on the ground floor of the building – m.in. dismantling partition walls, replacement of elements in wooden walls, insulation, replacement / renovation of windows and doors, reconstruction of part of the floor from boards, fumigation, impregnation;

3. Robots on the roof of the building – m.in. dismantling the roof sheathing from sheet metal, demolition old gutters, laying of new roofing, replacement of damaged ones parts of the roof structure (rafters, murlats, installation of new guttering).

Value of the investment is PLN 408,000, the amount of co-financing is PLN 399,000, own contribution: 9 000 PLN

Deadline completion of the investment: 30 August 2025
