Monday (19 February) recruitment for kindergartens run by the City has begun Elk for new children. Applications for admission to a nursery school/class preschool education in the primary school can be submitted until 8 March.

In recruitment children aged 3 to 6 living in the city of Ełk participate, who did not attend public nursery schools in the school year 2023/2024.

If, after recruitment procedure, the public nursery school continues to be vacancies, a supplementary procedure shall be conducted.

How do I apply?

There are two Ways to apply for admission to a nursery school/class preschool education in primary school:

-filling electronically via the website (a printout of the application is submitted to the to the institution to which the child is seeking admission),

-Assembly a hand-filled paper application to the facility (an employee of the kindergarten/school enters the application into the system).

These days A website dedicated to electronic recruitment will be made available. On A guide will be available on the website containing the offer of nursery schools and preschool classes in primary schools located in the territory of the the city of Ełk.

Note: A parent's application completed through the website website is stored in the system. A parent with a paper version of the application along with with the required documents, it is imperative that he or she go to the facility in person and confirm the application by 8 March 2024 at the latest.

Recruitment criteria

About the Reception the order of applications is NOT decisive for the child's admission to the nursery school/preschool class criteria for the first and second stages of recruitment.

Behavior recruitment is conducted by a recruitment committee appointed by the Director of the kindergarten/primary school.

On the first stage of the selection procedure, the following cumulatively Statutory criteria:

1. Having many children the candidate's family;

2. the candidate's disability;

3. disability of one of the candidate's parents;

4. disability of both parents of the candidate;

5. Disability siblings of the candidate;

6. Lonely bringing up the candidate in the family;

7. Embrace foster care.

Into public preschool institutions;  Any child can get in, and it doesn't matter where resides in what area of the city. There is no priority for the admission of a child to nursery schools in the district in which he resides. Therefore, the region is not one of the criteria scored by nursery schools in the assessment of applications for recruitment of preschoolers.

Exception: Since a child at the age of 6 is required to complete a one-year preschool preparatory programme in a nursery school, preschool education in a primary school (pre-school) or another educational setting preschool school, the child's journey from home to the nursery school, in a primary school may not exceed – 3 km.
