Since 2011, the city has been awarding subsidies for the renovation of Ełk monuments. In In March, two meetings of the Competition Committee for the evaluation of proposals were held in on granting a subsidy from the budget of the City of Ełk for conservation works, restoration or construction works on a monument entered in the register of monuments or included in the municipal register of monuments, located in the City Elk.

The Commission assessed 24 proposals. It has received a positive opinion six applications for a total amount of PLN 300,000 from the City budget Elk:

1.        Housing Community at ul. Polskiego 7 - Renovation of the façade of the residential and office building at ul. Polskiego 7 - co-financing PLN 100,000,

2.        Housing Community at 5 Moniuszki Street - Renovation of the façade of the residential building at 5 Moniuszki Street - co-financing PLN 80,000,

3.        Housing Community at Orzeszkowa Street 17 - Renovation of the front and gable façades with flashings bodywork of the residential and commercial building at 17 Orzeszkowa Street - co-financing of PLN 50,000,

4.        Housing Community at Mickiewicza Street 38 - Plastering and painting of the gable wall of the tenement house at ul. Mickiewicza 38 - co-financing PLN 20,000,

5.        Housing Community at 6 3 Maja Street - Insulation of the foundations of the tenement house at 6 3 Maja Street - co-financing of PLN 20,000,

6.        Housing Community at 17 Chopina Street - Execution of damp proofing of basement walls of a residential building at Chopina 17 - co-financing PLN 30,000.

On 27 March, the Ełk City Council adopted a relevant resolution on grants.

Yesterday (4 April) in the town hall, the mayor of Ełk signed agreements granting subsidies with representatives of housing associations.

Between 2011 and 2023 , a total of PLN 2,569,834.22 was disbursed grants for monuments:
