For the eighth time, the city has donated tree seedlings to Elks for electronic waste in as part of the ecological campaign "Garbage you give it back - you get the tree."

For years, the principle of the campaign has been simple, for the donation of electronic waste, i.e. 10 pieces batteries or small electronic waste (e.g. phone, charger, computer mouse) can be receive tree seedlings. Today (25 April) the Mayor of Ełk handed over to the participants 500 seedlings of spruces, pines, birches and oaks.

The idea of the campaign is to actively care for the natural environment and to remind the importance of segregation, especially of e-waste, which contains numerous substances harmful and poisonous. The most important is the educational aspect, i.e. raising awareness that this type of waste must not be disposed of in a normal waste bin. litter and should be handled in an appropriate manner.

During the distribution of seedlings, interested persons receiving subsidies for the replacement of the heat source and comprehensive thermal modernization could talk to the energy advisor of the Ełk City Hall about the rules of the program "Clean Air".

As part of the previous editions of the campaign, the city has already donated a total of 4,000 euros. Cuttings.
