Sterilisation and castration of owner animals was adopted by Resolution No. LXI.668.2024 of the Ełk City Council of March 27, 2024 on the "Program of care for homeless animals and prevention of animal homelessness in the Municipality of the City of Ełk in 2024." It is an activity that to a large extent prevents animal homelessness by preventing uncontrolled animal homelessness their reproduction.

Castration and sterilization of animals not only prevents their reproduction, but also also has an impact on their health and reduces the risk of dangerous of life, diseases. Thanks to the procedure, animals can be healthier and live longer. This action will also increase the awareness of the inhabitants of Ełk in the field of responsible and proper care of the animals and their humane treatment.

What you need to do to take advantage of the subsidy for the procedure co-financed from the city budget?

1. Condition participation in the campaign is:

1) having a registered address by the owner animals in the City of Ełk;

2) the animal has an electronic identifier/chip;

3) submission by the animal owner to the Office Office Service (room 02) of the Ełk City Hall, Marszałka Józefa Street Piłsudskiego 4 in Ełk filled application for co-financing of the procedure sterilization or castration of owner animals (application can be downloaded here).

2. After verification of the application, the applicant will be granted the informed of the outcome and, in case of a positive assessment, will be invited to to receive a written referral to veterinary treatment in the indicated clinic.

5. The service can be used in the veterinary office located in the the city of Ełk, i.e. the Veterinary Clinic Animal Medica A. Sidelnikow, M. Kasztelan spółka cywilna, ul. J. Kochanowskiego 44/ U4, Ełk, tel. 600 889 101.

6. The municipality will co-finance the cost of the treatment of animals:

Other amounts of castration and sterilization procedures is borne by the owner of the animals in the veterinary office.

There is a possibility that  the animal will not undergo veterinary treatment due to the a negative decision of a veterinarian, e.g. when there are any medical contraindications, then the animal will be excluded from the action (doctor veterinarian will inform the owner about this fact by phone or in writing and the office),

In the event of exclusion A referral for veterinary treatment loses its validity.
