Commemoration of the 104th anniversary of the Battle of Warsaw and the Polish Army Day

As part of the anniversary of the "Miracle on the Vistula" and Polish Army Day, at the monument "Fallen for Free and Independent Poland" On August 15, the official city celebrations will take place. A part of the including m.in family picnic, dance party on the boulevards and Silent Disco on the Square by the Clock.

This year marks the 104th anniversary of the Battle called the "Miracle on the Vistula" commemorating the victorious battle fought in the during the Polish-Bolshevik war on August 15, 1920. Victory of the Poles over the Red Army ensured Poland's independence and protected Europe from the Bolshevik Revolution.

 

At 9.45 a.m. there will be a Holy Mass in the Cathedral of St. Adalbert. Music – Kontrapunkt Choir, Rafał organ Sulima

 

At 11.00 a.m. at the monument "To those who died for Free and Independent Poland" in Ełk, the official ceremonies with the Military Honorary Company of the 15. Giżycka Mechanized Brigade im. Zawisza Czarny.

 

On the square at Pulaski Street An entertainment part is planned, m.in. the following will take place:

·         from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. the Tastes of the World Festival,

·         2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Family Picnic

 

The following are also planned:

- handicraft stands,

- children's zone: games, competitions and plays,

- demonstration of military equipment of the Battle Group NATO

- presentation of uniformed services equipment.
