IV Japanese Day at the Ełk Cultural Centre – a holiday for lovers of the Land of the Rising Sun

Already for the fourth time, the Ełk Cultural Centre invites you to the Japanese Day – an event which brings the fascinating culture of Japan closer. The program will include workshops film screenings, thematic panels and exhibitions, including attractions for the the whole family. We invite you to discover Japan together on November 23!

IV Japanese Day in Ełk is an opportunity to immerse yourself in the culture of Japan – a country with extraordinary artistic achievements and unique traditions. On Saturday, 23 November, the Ełk Cultural Centre has prepared a rich programme full of attractions, that will interest both children and adults.

From 10:00 a.m. for the youngest, there are workshops on decorating paper dolls, and young people and adults will be able to learn the secrets of traditional ink painting, sumi-e workshops. There are also screenings of films for children and including the animated film "Ponyo" and the premiere screening of the film "There is no evil". There will also be intimate thematic panels, introducing Japanese beliefs and the image of World War II
in Japanese literature.

Day The Japanese will be graced by the exhibition "Etchings. Masakatsu Tagami", presenting masterful graphics by one of the most outstanding contemporary artists Japan. Those interested in art can also take part in workshops linocut inspired by the Japanese woodcut ukiyo-e.

Additional attraction will be J-quiz – a team competition of knowledge about Japan, where participants they will test their knowledge of the culture, art and traditions of the Land of the Rising Sun.

In from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. there will be an exhibitors' zone, where you will be able to buy manga, figurines, gadgets and Japanese sweets.

Admission some events are free, and registration is required for some due to the limited number of places. Detailed information and registration are available in the ECC secretariat and on the website of the institution.
