Residents of the Municipality of Ełk who practice sports aimed at development of physical culture in the city, may submit applications for sports scholarships. These scholarships are awarded to players and coaches who meet certain criteria.

The scholarship may be awarded to an athlete or coach, who:

• practises a discipline of importance to the Municipality the City of Ełk;
• is a resident of the Municipality of the City of Ełk.

Sports that are important for development physical culture in the Municipality of the City of Ełk are: water sports, martial arts, athletics, football, volleyball, basketball, powerlifting, cycling/MTB and sports disciplines for the disabled.

Scholarships can be awarded to:

1. individual sports players with and without a competitor's license, achieving sports results in international national sporting competitions;
2. players of team sports games Participants of the competition:

The scholarship application is submitted by:

1. the adult player to whom the application relates;
2. parent or legal guardian of the minor Player;
3. the coach to whom the application relates.

How to apply?

The scholarship application is submitted by:

1. Age the player to whom the request relates;
2. parent or legal guardian of the underage player;
3. trainer concerned.

Application deadlines:

Sports scholarships are usually awarded twice a year Calendar. Applications for scholarships should be submitted to the Ełk City Hall on the following dates:

• By 15 December of the calendar year (for the first half of the following year)
• Until June 15 (for the second half of the year)

Applications for awards and distinctions can be submitted throughout the year.

Other forms of support for athletes

In addition to scholarships, athletes can apply for awards and Highlight. The awards are a recognition of players and coaches for presented level and high sports results, as well as for many years of activities for the development of physical culture in Ełk. Distinctions awarded are in the form of statuettes, cups, diplomas and congratulatory letters in the category "player" and "coach".
