Free ultrasound examinations for children – the "NO to cancer in children" program

Mayor of the City Tomasz Andrukiewicz and the Ronald McDonald Foundation, in cooperation with partners, invite parents and guardians for free ultrasound examinations of children aged from 9 months to 6 years, registered in the city of Ełk. Nearest edition of the "NO to Childhood Cancer" program will take place on May 21 and 22 2025 in Ełk (ul. Nadjeziorna, the square behind the Amphitheater of the Ełk Cultural Centre).
How to sign up?
To save child for an examination, call 87 732 62 28 or 87 732 62 64 on 14 and 15 May 2025 at 4.00 p.m. – 6.00 p.m.
Number of seats is limited, and registration is determined by the order of applications.

Local partner research and co-financier is the restaurant McDonald's Ełk IKSPD Dariusz Kupiec.
Partners "NO to Cancer in Children" program are the Warsaw Medical Center Medical University, ALAB laboratories and Universal Reading Foundation. The technical partners of the mobile clinic are MAN Polska and KOSMED.

In Poland
the Ronald McDonald Foundation's mobile clinic initiative was established in 2005.
For two decades, the Foundation has already examined over 95,000 children. Program
"NO to cancer
in children" is one of the Foundation's key programs, the aim of which is to
detection of cancerous lesions in the youngest. Mobile Ambulance every year
travels thousands of kilometers, offering safe, painless and free
ultrasound examinations.
Every child comes at the appointed time. The research is carried out by experienced radiologists in accordance with the highest medical standards, and parents They receive the results with possible recommendations immediately after the test. For many, of children, this is the first chance for such a detailed diagnosis, which can change their future.
–Early Diagnosis can prevent the development of cancer or chronic diseases of age including renal failure, requiring dialysis or transplantation Kidneys. Ultrasound is a test that can save the health and life of a child ," says Prof. Adam Jelonek, Honorary President of the Ronald McDonald Foundation, who together with Professor Jerzy R. Kowalczyk created the rules of the program 20 years ago, reacting to the the need for early detection of oncological changes in children. With their vision comprehensive approach in the program are performed examination of the thyroid, lymphatic diseases of the neck, abdominal organs and urinary tract.
Ultrasound examination should be repeated. Experts of the "NO to Childhood Cancer" program recommend inspection once a year. Always take the last result with you.
Every year in Poland Nearly 1300 cases of cancer in children are diagnosed. Early diagnosis It gives a chance for effective treatment and cure of most of them. Therefore the Ronald McDonald Foundation screening program is so necessary. Each examination is an opportunity for the child and an opportunity to expand their knowledge about prevention for parents.
