The Krzysztof Kamil Baczyński School Complex No. 2 in Ełk has been nominated for the European Innovative Teaching Award (EITA) 2026 – the European Award for Innovation in Teaching

The project "Mathematicians in Europe", implemented in the School Complex No. 2 in Ełk, was among the projects nominated for the European Innovative Teaching Award (EITA) 2026. It is the European Award for Innovation in Teaching.

This year, the Foundation for the Development of the Education System – the National Agency for the Erasmus+ Programme and the European Solidarity Corps awarded 16 nominations in five categories. The Krzysztof Kamil Baczyński School Complex No. 2 in Ełk was among this unique group.

The project, which Ełk students are working on, shows that mathematics can be a universal language connecting students and teachers from different countries. The cooperation of the Ełk school with schools from Greece and Turkey, STEM activities, international workshops and joint problem solving allowed the participants to develop not only mathematical competences, but also critical thinking, communication, cooperation, knowledge of foreign languages and digital competences.
