Every year on May 4 firefighters they celebrate their holiday. In Poland, since 2003, Firefighter's Day has been celebrated as a professional holiday established by the Sejm of the Republic of Poland. Including The day is celebrated by both the State and Volunteer Fire Brigades. The work of both services is inextricably linked involves danger, sacrifice, as well as responsibility to Society. Firefighters every day risk their health and life by providing help during fires, but also accidents road or floods. Unfortunately, it happens that they pay the highest price for it.

The President of Ełk submitted today to all firefighters, both professional and volunteer, cordial thanks for the service rendered, wishing a lot of health, all prosperity, success in professional and personal life, safe returns from action and satisfaction with the service performed.
