Government decided to create a reserve of stable iodine preparations to protect Poles, if a radiation event occurs. Importantly, this is just an action preventive, currently there is no threat or reason to start distribution of potassium iodide tablets. Actions are carried out in advance so that the tablets were close to the inhabitants and could be quickly used if necessary get. Preparations are already there in municipalities where potassium iodide distribution points have been established. In our about 460 points were selected in the voivodship, among them mainly: schools, centers health, cultural centres, TSO headquarters or pharmacies.

In Ełk "I pick up where I vote"

Currently 19 distribution points are planned in the city of Ełk (in 13 places). The location of the points is linked with the seats of ward electoral commissions, which will make it easier for residents to quickly finding and reaching the points.

Number tablets exceed the number of inhabitants. If there is a radiation hazard, potassium iodide will be issued to all adult persons reporting to the point, as well as persons living permanently in other voivodships, citizens of states thirdly, refugees from Ukraine.

Responsibility for taking the tablet rests on the recipient. Dosage depends on Age. It is not recommended to take tablets by people over 60 years of age Life.

Dosage regimen:

In in the event of a risk of radioactive iodine contamination or the occurrence of this type of contamination, potassium iodide tablets should be taken orally with water or another cool drink.
