Museum Historical in Ełk obtained funding in the amount of PLN 50,000 from the Program Minister of Culture and National Heritage "Protection of Archaeological Monuments".

In as part of the project entitled "Treasure of coins from Ełk from the seventeenth century – conservation, analysis and edition of the book" All coins from the found in 2020 by The Historical and Exploratory Association of Yotvings treasure will be subjected to purification process, and 200 pieces will be subjected to detailed analyzes elemental. It will establish that alloys of what metals the coins were made, which is important, e.g. at research on counterfeiting and money corruption, a very common phenomenon in XVII century.

Total The value of the project is: PLN 62,500 (80% co-financing, 20% own contribution).

Implementation The project will last until the end of 2023. In 2024, it is planned to publish a publication summarizing the results of the research.
