In The city's Pro-Medica hospital has completed work to raise the level of adaptation of the Ełk facility for people with special needs. On For this purpose, the hospital received a grant of almost PLN 2 million.

Measures was allocated for the purchase of m.in.:

• a vertical platform that provides easy access to the main entrance to the hospital,
• specialized equipment medical and other, adapted for the youngest patients, bariatric, hearing and visual disabilities and limited mobility possibilities, m.in.:
• walkers for bariatric or visually impaired patient,
• speakers, intercoms, magnifying loupes, induction loops,
• ultrasound machines,
• ECG machines Mobile
• blood pressure monitors Specialized
• Mattresses anti-decubitus,
• typhlographic plan hospital building with Braille descriptions and plaques information used to marking of the interior of the building, enabling the blind and visually impaired easy movement around the facility.

Realized by the municipal hospital grant entitled "Improving access to medical services for people with special needs in the "Pro-Medica" Hospital in Ełk Sp. z o.o.'' in the amount of PLN 1,988,988.23 was co-financed as part of the project "Accessibility Plus for health'' – Operational Programme Knowledge Education Development of the Union European.  Enterprise was implemented in the period from 1 October 2022 to 31 July 2023.
