Animal tagging action

A campaign is underway to mark the owner's dogs, cats and cats free-living people. The task is to implant the animals under the skin electronic microprocessor (so-called chip).

We would like to remind you that the campaign of marking dogs and cats with their owners and free-living cats. You can still tag your pet with a chip.

The action was created as part of one of the tasks of the "Homeless Animals Care Program and prevention of animal homelessness in the Municipality of Ełk in 2023" adopted by the Ełk City Council.

Reader to read the chip number has almost every veterinarian, Ełk Guard Municipal and shelter workers for homeless animals. A chip is a number consisting of a string of  fifteen-digit numbers, which will be entered into a publicly accessible database on the website of the SAFE-ANIMAL. This number contains contact details that will help you to contact with the owner of the animal. Microchipping of free-roaming cats is intended to monitoring of their populations.

Treatment microchip implantation will be performed by a veterinarian at the Clinic Ewa Balun Veterinary Clinic Psokot, which is located at 9a Adama Mickiewicza Street curl. U5 in Ełk. The microchip is placed in a sterile applicator and injected under the skin. The procedure takes only a few seconds and the animal does not react more than during a regular injection.

Residents of Ełk, who want to take advantage of the free marking campaign, they can apply by phone at 507 956 622 or in person at the PSOKOT Ewa Balun Veterinary Clinic. About the qualification of the animal for the action Implantation is determined by the order of applications. The action lasts until the funds allocated for this purpose are exhausted, however, no longer than until 1 December this year.
