Resolution on assistance to citizens of Ukraine in Ełk adopted

The City Council at today's session adopted a resolution on the scope of assistance to Ukrainian citizens in Ełk. Activities of the city for refugees include, m.in, psychological, legal, in-kind assistance and learning Polish, as well as discounts under the Family Card 3+ and the Senior Card 60+.

In connection with the armed conflict conducted on the the territory of Ukraine, the Mayor of Ełk Tomasz Andrukiewicz submitted to the City Council draft resolution aimed at helping refugees staying in our city. At their session on 30 March 2022, the councillors unanimously adopted a resolution in on the scope of assistance to Ukrainian citizens in the City of Elk. This is an additional form of assistance offered by the city, which was created on the initiative of Self-government.

In addition to government action to help citizens In Ukraine, additional activities are being carried out in Ełk, which include:

·         psychological, pedagogical, legal, integrative help;

·         learning Polish for children and adults in an extracurricular form;

·         free use from public kindergartens, in the one in the dimension above 5 hours a day and meal fees;

·         in-kind assistance within the framework of the support obtained;

·         provision of places accommodation within the owned and organized housing resources;

·         discounts in as part of the Ełk Family Card 3+;

·         discounts in as part of the Ełk Senior Card 60+.

The resolution enters into force on the date of taking up and is valid from 24 February by 30 September 2022
